Virginia RACES Web Registration

Please Note The Following Important Information Regarding Registering With Virginia RACES.

• Upon successful registration and approval you will be included in our database, and covered by all current state and national Volunteer Protection Act’s for your reasonable acts as an emergency communications volunteer, consistent with your training and volunteer responsibilities. You may not violate any laws of the Commonwealth while engaging in your volunteer acts.  Further, Virginia RACES prohibits the carrying of any firearms (even with permit) during: (i) assignments, (ii) activation’s and (iii) at any time while representing VA RACES, except for sworn law enforcement officers, required by their supervising authority to be armed off-duty.
• You may not use ‘yahoo,’  ‘hotmail,’ ‘arrl.net,’ nor “ ‘QSL.net’ as your email contact. We consider these accounts as transient or alias email providers. Additionally we block ‘yahoo’ and ‘hotmail’ domains due to spam. Please use your primary email provider email account.
• If you change your email account, you must notify us, otherwise you will not receive activation notices or other urgent messages.
• If your email account “bounces” upon registration, you will not be registered. Please be careful to provide a valid email account.
• If you have a spam blocker, please disable it or take the necessary steps to assure you receive the confirmation of your registration. We cannot send a second confirmation as the system is automated.
• The automated registration system will send a confirmation of your registration to the email address you provided within minutes of your registration.  You should print the confirmation and save it for future reference.  

As a precondition of my request for consideration of membership and registration, I certify that I will comply with all rules of Virginia RACES, Inc., as now in effect or as may hereafter be adopted or amended. I further agree that I will comply with the policies and orders of the local Emergency Managers (including the policies of such local government I may serve and, Hospital Administrators if assigned to HDRT) for whom I may provide emergency communications.  Further, I understand that all F.C.C. Rules must be strictly adhered to. I also understand that Virginia RACES, Inc., does not charge any dues nor fees for membership, nor charges for the training it provides.
